Stored for more than 40 years (at a cost of $50,000+), this MG-TF awaits restoration in a Maryland garage. That radiator cap doesn't really open, by the way, but vintage cool it is. The MG-TF was built from late 1953 into 1955, and even when its powerplant was bumped from 57 horsepower to a mighty 63 ponies, it was a distant second (and about 15 miles an hour slower) in popularity to the 90-horsepower Triumph TR series. It so happens that I wrecked a TR-3 at the Hershey Hill Climb, but that's a tale for another time.
About Don Struke
Although I don't call myself a photographer, I have taken thousands of photos through the years and now and then I end up with one that is printworthy. Well, at least by my standards, which might be somewhat less than the norm. But you are the judge (continued below). PLEASE CLICK ON AD TO LEARN ABOUT THIS SITE I'm fortunate enough to have enjoyed a rather varied background in marketing, advertising, public relations, print and electronic media, TV production, and publication design in both corporate and non-profit organizations. As my list of photos on Fine Art America slowly grows, it should be apparent that my interests are all over the place, from the sight of beautiful flowers and landscapes to aviation and high performance...

Sharon Gonzalez
This has the look of a painting, Don. I always loved the MG and had a girlfriend who had one when we were in college. One summer back on the CZ, she told me that I could drive it. It is small; I am small; thus I thought perfect. I not only could not reach the pedals, but I also could not see out very well. Surprise and disappointment. She probably knew. Ha. This is a great creative shot.
Don Struke replied:
Hi, Sharon, and thank you for your visit and note. Moral to your MG tale: Always carry a big purse (to put behind your back) and always wear stiletto heels to reach the pedals. Well, maybe not.
