One of the most successful race cars ever, this Audi R8 won the 24 Hours of Le Mans five times (2000-01-02-04-05) and numerous other major races. Powered by a 3600 cc (219.7 c.i.) twin turbocharged V8 engine built by Ulrich Baretzky, its monocoque body is a carbon fiber and aluminum honeycomb technological beauty, with aerodynamics designed by Michael Pfadenhauer and chassis by Wolfgang Appel. Photographed 9/11/2011 at the SVRA (Sportscar Vintage Racing Association) event at Watkins Glen. Check that ultra high-tech parking brake.
