Description
In the Nevada ghost town of Rhyolite, these forgotten, rundown cabins once gave shelter to people long gone. What stories could they tell? Wait a minute. I just found this on Wiki, describing the results of gold being found nearby: "Starting as a two-man camp in January 1905, Rhyolite became a town of 1,200 people in two weeks and reached a population of 2,500 by June 1905. By then it had 50 saloons, 35 gambling tables, cribs for prostitution, 19 lodging houses, 16 restaurants, half a dozen barbers, a public bath house, and a weekly newspaper, the Rhyolite Herald." Sooooo, very possibly these are the "cribs for prostitution" which puts a different spin on saying something like "He's got a real nice crib up in the mountains." This reminds me of the one of your door somewhere on your portfolio. Interesting info and very cool shot, Don.

Thank you, Sharon! I've been interested in ghost towns forever and this is one with lots of history, as I briefly touch upon in my caption.
