Hi Don,you are right...all these pics are really wonderful and filled with scenic beauty. So this old Virginia plantation should have listed in "places-must have seen" category.....Latha..

Don Struke replied:

It's filled with history as well as a reminder of what the world was like in those days: A road on the property is noted as having been built by slaves. Their hard lives and labor are gone but the proof of that remains, under your feet.

I think this is one of the most beautiful places in this world...sooo cozy and colorful- A very nice capture Don!V/F

Don Struke replied:

Latha, thank you for your very nice comments. This IS one of the most beautiful places that I have seen, at least (although I love California's Big Sur). This old Virginia plantation gave my camera many opportunities and I have five others posted: Simpy Red Simply Gorgeous, Southern Comfort With Adirondack Style, The Autumn Tree, Autumn Vista in Virginia (I sound like a broken phonograph record), and Under The Shade of An Old Tree This Bench Awaits.

Stunning work! Really beautiful Don.You have a great eye for that perfect shot!

Don Struke replied:

Krystyna, thank you, but I think a lot of my shots depend mostly on luck and then maybe a touch of composition.

Beautiful country scene with a pleasing composition.

Don Struke replied:

James, having seen (and appreciated) your fine eye with a camera, I consider your remark a high compliment. Thank you!

About Don Struke

Don Struke

Although I don't call myself a photographer, I have taken thousands of photos through the years and now and then I end up with one that is printworthy. Well, at least by my standards, which might be somewhat less than the norm. But you are the judge (continued below). PLEASE CLICK ON AD TO LEARN ABOUT THIS SITE I'm fortunate enough to have enjoyed a rather varied background in marketing, advertising, public relations, print and electronic media, TV production, and publication design in both corporate and non-profit organizations. As my list of photos on Fine Art America slowly grows, it should be apparent that my interests are all over the place, from the sight of beautiful flowers and landscapes to aviation and high performance...
