Description
It doesn't seem possible that General Motors has been building Corvettes for nearly 60 years but this '56 (or is it a '57?) was the second iteration of what began in 1953 as a 150-horsepower boulevard cruiser. (Check my Calloway Vette cockpit photo on my site here.) Fans will argue which years are the best looking but the beauty of this, well, beauty, can't be denied. Photographed in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, 6/26/2011.

Many thanks! I believe this design would have been during Harley Earl's tenure as chief of design for GM. His designers sure did hit some home runs and this timeless jewel was one of many.
