Description
In 1963 before General Motors ordered a stop to the project, Chevrolet engineers led by Zora Arkus-Duntov built five (of an intended 125) very special lightweight Corvette coupes, serial numbers 001-005, intended to vanquish Carroll Shelby's Cobras. All five of the original Grand Sports still exist; two (I think) were converted into topless roadsters early in their career. This is a perfectly built replica waiting for track time at Watkins Glen International Raceway at the September 2011 SVRA (Sportscar Vintage Racing Association) event.
