Artist's Description
When is a Corgi not a Corgi? When he's a ham, like our big guy Aidan here, photographed at the 4/2011 AKC Harrisburg dog show. Look at those big and bee-yoot-teeful Bette Davis eyes. UPDATE 2/15/2013: Sad to report that Aidan now is dealing with lymphoma (at five years old) but we are doing everything we can for him. He's lying at my feet, sleeping, as I write this. Woof woof, big guy.
NOTE: The Fine Art watermark visible in preview windows is not on any print.
About Don Struke
Although I don't call myself a photographer, I have taken thousands of photos through the years and now and then I end up with one that is printworthy. Well, at least by my standards, which might be somewhat less than the norm. But you are the judge (continued below). PLEASE CLICK ON AD TO LEARN ABOUT THIS SITE I'm fortunate enough to have enjoyed a rather varied background in marketing, advertising, public relations, print and electronic media, TV production, and publication design in both corporate and non-profit organizations. As my list of photos on Fine Art America slowly grows, it should be apparent that my interests are all over the place, from the sight of beautiful flowers and landscapes to aviation and high performance...

Very sad to announce that Aidan lost his fight with lymphoma on the evening of June 5th, 2013, at Pet ER here in Maryland. We did everything we could for him and on his last day six techs worked on him for over an hour with CPR and various drugs. He revived once, but then left us for the Rainbow Bridge. His death is the fifth among dogs within a two-block area to die from cancer. Something is not right.

Very nice shot !
Don Struke replied:
Sorin, I am familiar with your wonderful artistry and I always especially appreciate your kind comments. Thank you!

Great Corgi close-up with that doggie smile that is so endearing and inviting. I also (of course) like your other pictures on FAA. I have a Corgi picture (but he is not mine). It is on my site....somewhere down the line. I have almost a thousand images but maybe you can find. My dog, Happy, is upstairs here keeping me company in the "lived in" computer room, where she loves to sleep while I am playing around with the computer. The best to you,, Anne
Don Struke replied:
Found your Corgi ("Finn"). Oh, what a nice photo, and I like everything of yours that I ("Baltimore") have visited.
Don Struke replied:
Anne....P.S: This Corgi ("Aidan") will be at Oatlands this Saturday (10-29-2011) for an AKC show. I am his chauffeur.

Andrea, thank you. I'd like to take some credit but it goes to our Pembroke Welsh Corgi, here, Aidan. I notice you too have in your art some Bette Davis eyes (per my caption). Btw Aidan's house name is Moose and now and then, Hellboy.

Hi, Sharon! How have you been? Glad to see you now are on FAA. Honey's a good idea but I'm saving mine for another occasion, He was kind of jumping around and this was a lucky grab shot. I had to crop it rather tightly because my daughter's hand was resting on his big Corgi head with those big Corgi ears. Woof!

PS Perhaps put a little honey on the stick..........

What a terrific shot, Don. Aidan's eyes are so alive and bright. Did you toss a stick? I can see that Aidan's waiting for that.
