Description
I think one of the least appreciated forms of art is the ubiquitous barn roof weather vane. I've always imagined that if a farmer didn't buy one at his local farm supply store maybe he got one from an itinerant weather vane salesman. Considering the suspected age of this vintage vane, there could not have been much repeat business.

Don, This photograph caught my eye as much for your "lonely cow" title as the remarkable beauty of the old weathered tin roof. I'm so glad you posted this photo. I agree, weather vanes are underappreciated!

Well do not feel sorry for the cow. It has lots to look at; paint chipping; probably his image in the pasture; birds flying over and leaving him gifts; oh lots of things. Looks like a happy cow to me. Annnnnd he got his photo taken by you and is on FAA; so famous cow. Besides that he helps make up this great composition that you took, Don.
Don Struke replied:
Well, you make some good points, Sharon. Also he always gets to face whatever way the wind is blowing, and we all should have such an opportunity instead of sometimes having to face bad weather head on. Thank you for your nice reaction to this composition.
