Description
Here's a photo I took of Greg Allman performing with his band at Hersheypark Arena in Hershey, Pennsylvania, sometime around 1982. Technically it's not a great photograph so I offer it as an historical artifact of one of the most popular bands in music history. I urge you to read the Wiki about them. Their album "At Fillmore East" is Number 49 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time, and in 2012 the Allman Brothers Band was honored with the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. I remember when they were one of the bands (with the Grateful Dead and The Band) performing in upstate New York in 1973 to more than 600,000 fans at the Summer Jam at Watkins Glen. I remember also that some fans stole pigs from a nearby farm. Anyone care for fresh barbecue? Who's got some beer?

Don, I disagree with your assessment, this is a BEAUTY SHOT! But, any chance that you were at the ABB Hershey gig on 11/23/1975? If this photo & the shot of Dickey & Lamar are from the same show in Hershey- WELL- it has to be from that Nov. '75 gig. Lamar Williams was out of the band by late 1976. The Gregg pic, without a doubt, is mid 70's Gregg, NOT early 80's. I'm not trying to put you down, the shots are SIMPLY PRECIOUS, but obviously NOT (circa) 1982. Time fades our memory, as time goes by.That said, I will be buying this Gregg print, as soon as I figure out what format I want it on...I'll be back, soon...
